Once on property you immediately start to feel the holiday cheer. Lights everywhere, holiday trees everywhere, decorations EVERYWHERE! It’s so awesome!!!
Check in was very easy, however because today is opening day for Gaylord Ice, parking was very hectic. No organization. Valet parking had at least 30 cars waiting to be parked. Ended up self parking, however it was very easy to get to the lobby so all good.
Got to our room and found everything clean and in place. Either the room was recently renovated or well maintained. The only disappointment was the lack of USB ports. We found two at the desk, zero elsewhere. Most modern hotels now have USB charge built into everything. When traveling with kids and or teens, USB charging ports are a must!!
After checking out our room, we started to walk around the resort. I can’t explain how awesome the resort is decorated. After checking out the koi and gators, we headed over to the convention center.
The holiday village has games, shops, and lots of activities for the whole family. The best part was, it’s included in the resort fee!!! The wife and kids had a great time checking out all the holiday decorations for sale. They even had a build a bear workshop. Parents, they even have a North Pole post office! ;-)
All around the resort are shops. We stopped at a couple and they had something for everyone.
Restaurants.... something in everyone’s price range. From $50 steaks to $7 grilled panini‘s. Looking for snacks, small stores just about everywhere.
Gaylord Palms Ice Sculpture Exhibit- WHAT AN EVENT! I would place this exhibit as the next wonder of the world. I can't believe they were able to create this awesome event inside a convention center in Orlando Florida. Be prepared to have your mind blown!

Bring your gloves and some warm clothes, and Gaylord Palms will take care of the rest. You are provided and mandatory to have on, a parka that will keep you nice and warm.
For those who love to take photos with your iPhone, be sure to purchase a pair of gloves that allow you to keep your gloves on and take pictures. I saw a lot of peeps taking gloves on and off.
If you are looking for an event to get you in the mood for the holidays, start here at Gaylord Palms.
The Brodosi’s gives it 5 stars and we still have three days left in our stay! I’ll post again tomorrow about the Ice show. For now enjoy some of our photos.
